I haven't slept since yesterday up until now... Of course, as Filipinos who love celebrating the yuletide seasons, a night or a day is not enough. I spent my 24th eating and talking to my sisters--reminiscing about the old times, feeling very sorry for Mr. Lauro Vizconde, arguing sometimes and then laughing every now and then when a funny memory pops up.
Since I couldn't sleep I went online. I searched for random stuffs, went on Facebook, watched a part of Kevin Costner's Robinhood and then checked my blogsite. I haven't posted for quite a while. Actually, I mean to post an article for EVERY link I have on the right side of my site (an article for each commercial, movie, etc) but I get too overly excited to put the link once I find a very interesting (in my opinion) piece of 80's memento for those other 80's nostalgic people to see.
As I patiently browsed the internet for some 80's stuff that I can share in my blog, I came across this--Being Poor: Lessons from the 80's. The article is very interesting, nostalgic and, the thing I always look for in an article, very personal. I love how the author recounts his experiences in the 80's. He narrated what he remembered of his past with precision or should I say conviction.
Among the things he mentioned are Kris Aquino's infamous claim that she uses shampoo for horses to have a silky smooth hair, how buying less and econo-sized packs of goods was the mantra of the wise moms back then, and how the rainbow bread could determine your mom's love for you. Remember any of these?
