Batibot Petition

The power of Batibot really amazes me! Even up to now parents, who were the very same little tots who used to sit in front of their tv's waiting for this show to start, started a petition just to bring back their favorite tv program.

I have seen countless threads, forums and blog sites with discussions and posts all about Batibot. Nostalgia is the word that never fails to be mentioned once the topic is this show. Some even boast about their favorite Batibot characters. Some challenge one another by citing their most unforgettable Batibot song/s or episode/s. Of course, the names Kuya Bodjie and Ate Sienna were always, and will always be, mentioned. And the theme song of the program became the national anthem of all the Batibot kids of the past.

Here's what's stated in the petition:

The "Ibalik ang Batibot" Petition

Kami, mga Filipinong magulang, sa ngalan ng mga makakapangyarihan, upang
magkaroon ng mga mabubuti, masunurin, magalang, mabilog, matalino at tunay na
mga Filipinong anak at kabataan ay nangingiusap sa kung sino mang may awtoridad
na muling ibalik ang Batibot sa telebisyon.

Nais naming magkaroon ng alternatibong palabas ang aming mga anak, sapagkat
sila ay nagiging sobrang pasaway sa kapapanood ng kung anu-anong cartoons na
karaniwan ay banyaga. Kung hindi Amerikano ay Hapon.

Wala pong natutunan ang aming mga anak sa ganiyang mga uri ng palatuntunin
(I guess, he committed a type. He meant "palatuntunan".) .

Ang Batibot po ang tanging makapgtuturo sa ating mga kabataan kung ano ang
"value" ng pagiging isang tunay na kabataang Pilipinong bata.

Kung ang posibilidad na maibalik ang palabas na ito ay maliit, nais po sana
naming irequest kung sino man ang may hawak ng kopya ng mga "episode" na ito na
i-release ang mga kinauukulang "episode" sa public domain sa isang lisensiyang
makakapagbigay ng mas malawak na distribusyon nito ng walang kahit ano pa mang
restriksyon ukol sa pamamahagi nito.

So far, this petition got only 26 signatures. I tried to verify the date when this petitioned was made but to no avail. The good news though is the very purpose of this "Ibalik and Batibot Petition" is certainly not in vain. Ngayon, masasabi na talaga nating "pag mulat ng mata (ang) langit nakatawa" at pati tayo nakatawa dahil muling magbabalik ang ating mahal na programa.


I can't imagine myself on the premiere airing of this show. It will surely be an exciting and definitely a very nostalgic trip down memory lane.
